About The Position

As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within Card Services, you will lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. You will utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and being a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
• Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
• Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
• Practical cloud native experience, including platform engineering and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent), API/service enablement patterns (REST, brokers), and delivery in regulated environments with strong security and resiliency requirements
• Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

Responsibilities

• Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
• Makes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
• Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
• Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains, including cloud infrastructure platform capabilities (hybrid/public cloud) with automated provisioning of on-demand/ephemeral environments and reusable self-service services
• Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
• Drives DevOps and CI/CD delivery (build/test/deploy automation, release governance) and selectively integrates AI/GenAI-enabled engineering tools into developer workflows to improve productivity and automation outcomes in a controlled manner
