About The Position

The College of Health Professions at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invites applications for the position of Anesthesia for Nurses, Director of Simulation. This individual will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the simulation curriculum as well as academic advising and classroom instruction. The Simulation Director will report to the Anesthesia for Nurses (AFN) Division Director. The AFN division is housed in the Department of Clinical Sciences, an interprofessional department that also contains Cardiovascular Perfusion, Physician Assistant Studies, Pathologists' Assistant Studies, Genetic Counseling, and Healthcare Studies programs. This provides opportunities for interprofessional simulation experiences and educational research.

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
  • Master’s degree with the requirement to complete a doctoral degree within three years
  • At least three years clinical experience as a CRNA
  • Provided clinical instruction to nurse anesthesia students
  • Strong academic and clinical teaching experience
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Engagement in the profession of nurse anesthesiology
  • Ability to work collaboratively

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree (preferred)
  • Certification as a Certified Simulation Healthcare Educator (CHSE)
