About The Position

Join an Innovative, High-Performing Team – Director of Service Operations Opportunity in Columbus, OH! Aspen Careers is partnering with a nationally recognized full-service law firm, to identify a Director of Service Operations for its Columbus, Ohio office. This newly broadened leadership role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrative or operations professional to reimagine how essential office services are delivered across the firm. The Director of Service Operations will oversee a wide range of administrative and workplace services while leading meaningful departmental change. The ideal candidate will bring a strong customer-service mindset, experience managing multiple operational functions, and the ability to develop and implement a new vision for service delivery.

Requirements

  • Significant administrative, office operations, or office management leadership experience, ideally within a law firm or other professional services environment.
  • Managed a broad range of services such as facilities, reception, mail, copying, catering, office services, or related administrative functions.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating office moves, renovations, build-outs, space planning, or similar workplace projects.
  • Understanding of equipment and/or office leasing processes and comfort collaborating with IT, vendors, attorneys, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Proven change leader who can evaluate existing processes, establish a clear vision, and successfully implement new structures and expectations.
  • Approaches operations with a strong customer-service mentality and understands the important role internal service teams play in the employee and client experience.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and recommendations diplomatically and productively, particularly when navigating longstanding practices or implementing change.
  • Comfortable working across departments and offices while building relationships with leadership, administrators, attorneys, and staff.
  • Solutions-oriented, approachable leadership style and the ability to gain trust while raising service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a wide range of administrative and workplace services while leading meaningful departmental change.
  • Lead and enhance key office functions, including mailroom, copy center, reception, catering, facilities, and workplace services.
  • Develop and implement a new departmental structure focused on responsiveness, professionalism, and exceptional internal customer service.
  • Play an integral role in office moves, renovations, build-outs, furniture planning, and other workplace initiatives.
  • Manage and coordinate leases involving printers, office equipment, and physical office space in partnership with IT and real estate professionals.
  • Participate in strategic decisions involving space utilization, tenant improvement dollars, renovations, and evolving office needs.
  • Provide dotted-line leadership and operational guidance to administrators in other firm offices.
  • Make a visible impact on the employee and visitor experience during a period of meaningful transformation.
