About The Position

Le Meridien Charlotte is seeking a Director of Security to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Safety and Security Team, including schedules, payroll and budget. This role provides overall leadership and direction for all of the Safety and Security functions within the hotel.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED.
  • 1-3 years previous security supervisor experience in hospitality; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Must have a knowledge of mathematical and computer skills.
  • High school education and relevant training and experience required.
  • Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates.
  • CPR training required and first aid training required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or college.
  • Additional education preferred.
  • Additional language ability preferred.
  • American Red Cross Aid and CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the training of the Safety & Security Team to ensure proper procedures and policy.
  • Acts as liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Enforces all operational procedures.
  • Confers with representative of ownership to formulate policies and determine need for programs.
  • Ensures cooperation and coordination of plant activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies.
  • Provides effective management of people and processes in accordance with company Management Performance Standards.
  • Provides quality guest service in accordance with company Quality Service Performance Standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Confer with management, interview guests, associates, and others to detect infringements, disturbances, complaints, theft, vandalism, etc.
  • Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and damaged or inoperative safety equipment and warn or eject troublemakers and caution careless persons.
  • Establish and supervise operational procedures for activities such as fire prevention and fighting, traffic control, guarding and patrolling physical property, orienting, and monitoring personnel involved with classified information, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
  • Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Manage shipping and receiving including group packages and deliveries.
  • Oversee all fire/life/safety programs, policies and procedures.
