About The Position

Related Hudson Yards is actively seeking a Security Director for The Shops & Restaurants at 20 Hudson Yards. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all retail tenants, employees, guests, visitors, vendors, and assets while supporting an exceptional luxury customer experience. The Director will establish and implement security policies and procedures, oversee security operations and personnel, and partner with various teams and officials to identify and mitigate security risks. This position also involves meeting with retail tenants to address security concerns and collaborating with their security management and loss prevention teams.

Requirements

  • 20+ Years in Security/Law Enforcement related field required.
  • Must have served in a supervisory/command position for 10+ years.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior law enforcement, retail security, loss prevention, hospitality, or mixed-use property security experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement security policies and procedures for The Shops & Restaurants at 20 Hudson Yards in conjunction with Hudson Yards Management Leadership.
  • Assist in setting the training, hiring and supervising policies while reinforcing the Related Customer Experience.
  • Oversee retail security operations and security personnel, evaluating performance and recommending improvements.
  • Oversee Post Orders, Emergency Action Plans, Standard Operating Procedures, and Special Event checklists, providing insight and recommendations.
  • Partner with the Operations Control Center (OCC), Fusion Center, and retail operations teams to identify and mitigate security risks impacting retail tenants and guests.
  • Liaise with Federal, State and City officials to assist in determining the appropriate threat level status.
  • Meet with retail tenants and prospective retailers to address security concerns, loss prevention initiatives, special events, and operational risks.
  • Work in conjunction with tenants and their security management to address the threats and needs of each individual tenant.
  • Partner with retail tenant Loss Prevention and Asset Protection teams to address theft trends, organized retail crime, and security concerns impacting store operations.
  • Monitor performance of all subordinates to ensure they are following proper protocols, consistent with the customer experience. Identify under-performers and provide coaching or mentoring opportunities.
  • Identify potential threats to retail operations by analyzing current and future procedures, customer traffic patterns, special events, and emerging retail crime trends while developing mitigation strategies.
  • Perform any other tasks determined by the VP/SVP & Chief of Security.
