About The Position

HII is hiring a Director of Security and Emergency Management for its Arlington, Virginia office. This senior security leader advances the division’s security strategy and integrates security disciplines to support operational performance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management. The role oversees physical security, logical security integration, crisis and emergency management, insider threat, business continuity and resumption, and industrial security programs, ensuring that these capabilities work together to protect people, facilities, information, and operations while enabling mission success. Serving as the principal security advisor to divisional leadership, the Director translates complex risks into practical strategies aligned with operational priorities and government contractual requirements. The position leads and develops a team of security professionals, overseeing security programs, budgets, and resources in alignment with corporate policies and regulatory obligations. The Director works with corporate security, legal, human resources, information technology, operational leadership, executive leadership, divisional partners, and public safety agencies. The role also leads crisis and emergency planning, exercises, and operational response to strengthen resilience and continuity.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent education, training, and experience, plus 10 years of applicable progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; or a master’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience.
Must have a Top Secret Department of Defense clearance or be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

Advance the division’s security strategy and integrate security disciplines in support of operational performance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management.
Lead physical security, logical security integration, crisis management, emergency management, insider threat, business continuity and resumption, and industrial security programs.
Advise divisional leadership on security risks and strategies aligned with operational priorities and government contractual requirements.
Lead and develop a high-performance team of security professionals, building leadership capability, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Oversee the integration and execution of security programs, budgets, and resources in alignment with corporate security policies and regulatory obligations.
Coordinate with corporate security, legal, human resources, information technology, and operational leadership to integrate divisional security initiatives with enterprise governance and risk management frameworks.
Lead planning, exercises, and operational responses for crisis and emergency events in coordination with executive leadership, divisional partners, and public safety agencies.
Strengthen the organization’s ability to anticipate risk, safeguard mission-critical assets, and sustain operational resilience.
