About The Position

The Bernard Group is a 100% employee-owned visual merchandising company leading the retail industry in design and production. They are looking for a Director of Sales to join their team. This role will lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team focused on driving new business growth and expanding strategic client partnerships. The Director of Sales will work cross-functionally to deliver value-added retail solutions that combine creative, production, logistics, and technology-enabled capabilities to solve complex client challenges. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, strengthening executive-level client relationships, and partnering with internal teams to execute go-to-market strategies that support continued revenue growth. The Director of Sales will help foster a culture centered on accountability, execution, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This role is based out of their headquarters location in Chanhassen, MN and requires up to 25% travel for client meetings, industry events and team collaboration. The shift available is Monday through Friday, standard business hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
  • 8-12+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably within retail marketing, visual merchandising, print, or related industries
  • 3-5+ years of sales leadership experience managing teams and revenue goals
  • A proven track record of winning and growing large enterprise accounts
  • Experience selling complex solutions that include technology-enabled platforms
  • Strong B2B sales leadership experience
  • High sales acumen with strategic and consultative selling skills
  • Ability to navigate long and complex sales cycles
  • Proven success managing enterprise-level accounts and revenue targets
  • Strong executive presence and relationship-building skills
  • Experience selling value-added solutions and technology-enabled platforms
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities
  • Results-driven mindset with strong operational discipline
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple internal teams
  • Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills including, demonstrated listening skills and the ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively both internally and outside the organization

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team focused on new business development
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with brands and retailers
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with client stakeholders
  • Partner cross-functionally to develop strategic, value-added retail solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling proposals and presentations
  • Support go-to-market strategy execution alongside executive leadership
  • Monitor market trends, competitive positioning, and emerging business opportunities
  • Drive accountability, forecast accuracy, and operational discipline across the sales organization
  • Foster a culture of execution, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Other duties as requested by management
