About The Position

Our client exists to show people that it’s never too late to learn a new skill through their innovative craft products. They have sparked joy in their 1 million + customers and have seen unbelievable growth in their 5 years in the marketplace. Their products are found in major retailers, including Walmart and Target, as well as specialty retailers across the United States. They have a small and tight-knit team for the size of their revenue, and plan on keeping it that way. They are all about getting the job done with as little busy-work and meetings as possible. Their team is fully remote. Location: Bentonville, AR preferred. About the Role: We are looking for a Director of Sales with proven sales skills across a diverse portfolio of mass retail customers and who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role will focus primarily on growing the brand within major mass retailers, including accounts like Walmart and Target. You’ll lead the strategy, relationships, and revenue planning for these partnerships while working closely with the product and operations teams to ensure they deliver a great retail experience from pitch to shelf. What success looks like in the first year: Expand brand presence within existing mass retail accounts & onboard the right new opportunities within the channel Launch new product assortments that perform strongly at shelf Create a brand story on shelf - you won’t just be filling pegs Build strong retailer partnerships that balance growth with brand integrity Establish and execute a clear revenue and profitability plan for the mass channel Execute forecasts with high accuracy - OTIF should be near perfect Maintain and grow ASPs across all mass accounts Minimize chargebacks Keep inventory levels healthy across all accounts Expand omni channel planning - grow in store and online Revolutionize the JBP process - make the brand stand out from the rest Position the brand to be a best in class partner across every step of the sell in to sell through process.

Requirements

  • Built and managed mass retail partnerships at Walmart(primary) and Target (secondary) - line reviews, build compelling assortment proposals, and work through the realities of retail planning cycles.
  • Driven retail success by building a category story, managing margins thoughtfully, and making sure the product actually performs once it hits the shelf.
  • Driven execution through Forecasting, inventory planning, and cross-functional coordination with operations, supply chain, and product teams
  • Strategically thinking about assortment and channel expansion.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset - operate like an owner, treat your accounts like a business inside the business, plan for the year, track performance closely, and adjust quickly when things change.
