About The Position

This role is responsible for building excellent relationships with clients, third parties, and community organizations to generate business for the hotel. The Director of Sales will provide strategic direction to the sales and catering team to achieve revenue goals and maximize performance. Daily tasks include guiding the team to achieve monthly revenue goals, developing action plans, analyzing data, reporting on results, and overseeing marketing efforts. This position prepares individuals for progressive careers in larger hotels or more complex markets, serving as a potential stepping stone to national sales, third-party planner positions, or even General Manager roles.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the Hotel’s Market and previous hotel selling experience.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly with prior hotel brand experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in client and associate follow-up.
  • Strong decision-making skills in revenue management.
  • Excellent pricing and positioning abilities.
  • Quickly evaluate alternatives and make informed plans of action.
  • Proven track record in selling and negotiating.
  • Effectively balance the needs of clients, the company, and the owner.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) Hotel Sales Experience, Required.
  • Ability to lead Revenue and Sales Disciplines.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Sufficient education and/or literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs.
  • The ability to see, hear, talk, sit, stand, handle objects, bend, kneel, stoop, and lift items as needed for the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
