About The Position

Lumion is seeking a Director of Sales to lead the next phase of revenue growth. This role involves building Lumion's sales engine, focusing on new customer acquisition within the career school market, and exploring new market opportunities. The Director of Sales will work closely with the CEO and leadership team, manage and develop the existing sales team, and establish processes and operating cadences to achieve predictable revenue. The position requires a hands-on approach, with the individual being deeply involved in deals and customer interactions. Lumion provides an AI-first operating system for trade and technical schools, covering the entire student journey from engagement to success, including a unique in-house payments and servicing engine. The company operates in a market with a significant shortage of skilled trades, and Lumion aims to be the solution for schools training these essential workers.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of carrying a revenue number and owning meaningful sales targets in a B2B environment.
  • Experience in building sales structures, establishing processes, and identifying gaps.
  • Ability to jump into important deals, handle executive conversations, and work through objections.
  • Experience coaching, developing, and holding sales teams accountable.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline coverage, conversion, sales velocity, forecasting, win rates, and quota attainment.
  • Ability to sell a platform, not just a feature, and translate complex products into clear business stories.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and identifying future market opportunities.
  • Genuine curiosity about how AI is reshaping businesses and sales.
  • Must be comfortable working shoulder to shoulder with product and company leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Own the sales number and be accountable for new revenue.
  • Set targets, manage forecasting, and ensure pipeline health.
  • Create an operating cadence to keep the team focused on revenue-driving activities.
  • Deepen Lumion's position in the trade and technical education market.
  • Identify schools, groups, and opportunities for platform impact.
  • Sell the value of Lumion's AI-first operating system for engagement, enrollment, payments, and student success.
  • Assist in identifying and testing new markets for Lumion's solutions.
  • Build and lead the sales team, acting as a player-coach.
  • Recruit talent to build out the sales organization as revenue grows.
  • Establish rigor in pipeline management, forecasting, conversion, sales velocity, pricing, and performance metrics.
  • Provide market feedback to Product and leadership regarding objections, competitive intelligence, product gaps, and emerging needs.
