About The Position

The Director of Sales is responsible for leading all sales and revenue-generating activities for the hotel. This position develops and executes strategic sales plans to maximize occupancy, increase revenue, and strengthen the hotel's presence in the local market. The Director of Sales works closely with the General Manager and Marriott revenue and sales teams to achieve business goals while delivering exceptional guest service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hotel sales experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven ability to achieve revenue and sales goals.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel sales, revenue management, and market segmentation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Marriott sales systems (CI/TY, GXP, or similar platforms preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Marriott hotel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve revenue and occupancy goals.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities in corporate, group, government, leisure, and negotiated accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Conduct hotel site tours, client meetings, and sales presentations.
  • Prospect through cold calls, networking, sales missions, and community involvement.
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts for group bookings and corporate accounts.
  • Collaborate with Marriott's revenue management team to maximize ADR, RevPAR, and occupancy.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify business opportunities.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and monthly performance reports.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, and community organizations.
  • Work closely with Operations, Front Office, and Catering teams to ensure successful execution of group business and exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate client records and sales activity using Marriott systems and CRM tools.
  • Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards and company policies.
