About The Position

This position is responsible for hiring and developing the staffing for the Sales department. The Director of Sales is responsible to assist in budget preparation and on-going financial management of the sales department. The Director of Sales is responsible for creating and distributing the weekly Pace, STR, Sales Forecast, and Sales Productivity Reports. The Director of Sales is fully trained and proficient on the Amadeus Delphi system. This position interacts with all Senior Leaders and many Leadership level managers in the daily operations of the resort. The Director of Sales oversees the resort’s relationship with key account customers, 3rd party agents, and sales and marketing staff.

Requirements

  • Excellent hospitality sales and management skills.
  • Extensive experience managing and leading sales teams.
  • Experience developing and administering hotel/resort sales office policies and procedures.
  • Fully trained and proficient on the Amadeus Delphi system.
  • A four-year college degree and/or 5–10 years of experience as a hotel/resort Director of Sales.
  • Very computer literate.
  • Able to communicate at the highest levels.
  • Skilled with standard office equipment.
  • Neat and clean overall appearance.
  • Maintain proper associate uniform standards.
  • Mentally tough with a high degree of stress tolerance related to achieving and maintaining sales targets and goals.
  • Engaging personality.
  • Public speaking skills.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Required to walk, sit, push or pull.
  • Able to interact with co-workers and customers and have a sense of TEAM.

  • Overseeing the resort’s relationship with key account customers, 3rd party agents, and sales and marketing staff.
  • Entertaining clients.
  • Speaking publicly to groups representing the resort.
  • Occasional travel for sales missions and industry trade shows.
