The Director of Sales is responsible for driving vision and purpose through department objectives, revenue driving strategies, team deployment and production goals, and individual goal targets. This role involves creating departmental objectives, team deployment strategies, production goals, and individual performance targets. The Director of Sales must possess exceptional leadership skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to manage through subordinates and diffuse/resolve conflict practically. They will conduct regular one-on-one meetings and quarterly evaluations with team members, and must meet and exceed expectations for department gross revenue, making quick adjustments if targets are not being achieved. This role also involves conducting industry research and property data analysis to forecast future business volume, ensuring accurate production of monthly closing reports, owner’s reports, pace analytics, and forecasting reports. Proficiency in contractual language and agreements is essential, as is ensuring the department adheres to accounting standards. The Director of Sales will report weekly and monthly achievements, manage group yielding efforts, maintain department standards, and provide overall direction, coordination, and leadership for team members. They will be the primary support for all group sales outreach, negotiations, contractual review, planning, and service, and will serve as the direct liaison to all community organizations, city officials, industry associations, and public relations entities. Additionally, the role involves hiring, developing, mentoring, and training department team members, developing a monthly department training program, and conducting monthly department meetings. The Director of Sales will also implement corrective action and feedback when necessary, and implement reward programs.
