The Director of Sales at Colton House Hotel is responsible for preparing strategic plans, departmental revenue and expense budgets, and driving vision and purpose through department objectives. This role involves creating departmental objectives, team deployment strategies, production goals, and individual performance targets. The Director of Sales will manage group yielding efforts, maintain departmental standards, and provide overall direction, coordination, and leadership for team members. This position is the primary support for all group sales outreach, negotiations, contractual review, planning, and service, and serves as a direct liaison to community organizations, city officials, industry associations, and public relations entities. Additionally, the role involves hiring, developing, mentoring, and training department team members, conducting monthly department meetings, and implementing corrective action and feedback when necessary. The Director of Sales is expected to achieve departmental goals, contribute to revenue growth, engage in client relationship building, meet prospecting and sales activity targets, and respond to RFPs within 24 hours. This role requires strong negotiation skills, client relationship management, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs.
