About The Position

This position is with Henkel's Adhesive Technologies business unit, focusing on empowering people to transform industries and provide customers with a competitive advantage through adhesives, sealants, and functional coatings. The Director of Retail Sales – Lowe’s will lead Henkel ACA’s Lowe’s business, with full P&L accountability, strategic direction, and team leadership. This role is crucial for driving revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion while strengthening executive-level customer relationships. As a member of the North American Commercial Leadership Team, this leader will shape enterprise commercial strategy and influence cross-functional priorities. The role demands a balance of long-term strategic planning and disciplined operational execution within a complex, highly cross-merchandised retail environment.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in business or related field
  • 15+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, including management of large national retail accounts (e.g., Lowe’s, The Home Depot, Walmart).
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven track record managing complex P&Ls and delivering sustained profitable growth
  • Strategic thinking with strong financial acumen
  • Executive presence and advanced negotiation skills
  • Cross-functional leadership and influence

  • Strong analytical capability and data-driven decision making
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Own full P&L responsibility for the Lowe’s business, delivering against revenue, margin, and market share targets.
  • Develop and execute multi-year strategic account plans aligned with Henkel ACA’s growth priorities.
  • Lead annual Joint Business Planning (JBP) process, including promotional strategy, innovation launches, assortment planning, and investment allocation.
  • Utilize customer, syndicated, and industry data to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Influence pricing strategy, trade investment, and promotional effectiveness in partnership with Finance and Commercial Excellence.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships across Lowe’s merchandising, marketing, supply chain, and leadership teams.
  • Serve as Henkel’s subject-matter expert on Lowe’s and the Home Improvement channel, proactively sharing insights, competitive intelligence, and emerging trends.
  • Lead negotiation of annual agreements, programs, and key strategic initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Digital, and Innovation teams to ensure aligned execution.
  • Drive alignment between demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, and promotional execution.
  • Influence go-to-market strategies in collaboration with Channel Leaders.
  • Represent the Lowe’s business in SBU strategic planning discussions and investment prioritization.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing account team, fostering accountability, strategic thinking, and executional excellence.
  • Assess team capabilities and implement development plans to strengthen account management expertise.
