We are seeking a Director of Sales to lead our full commercial organization, including outside sales, business development, and estimating / sales engineering. This role is responsible for building a more structured, accountable, and scalable sales function while driving profitable growth. Benson Systems is a family-owned Arizona specialty contractor with more than 40 years as leaders in fire protection and life safety solutions, we ensure the safety of our clients' facilities with top-tier services and unwavering standards. We serve commercial, education, government, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, and enterprise clients throughout Arizona. Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive B2B sales experience, with at least 4 years in a sales leadership role.
  • Experience leading teams in commercial contracting, technical services, building systems, security, fire/life safety, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or similar environment.
  • Experience working with both customer-facing salespeople and technical estimating / pre-sales resources, or closely related functions.
  • Experience selling complex solutions with multiple stakeholders and longer sales cycles.
  • Strong Salesforce or comparable CRM experience.
  • Ability to bring structure and accountability to an entrepreneurial or under-systematized environment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in security, fire/life safety, or low-voltage systems.
  • Familiarity with recurring service or maintenance revenue models.
  • Arizona market knowledge or local customer relationships.
  • Experience with proposal process improvement and pricing discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full commercial team, including sales reps, business development, estimators/sales engineers, and sales administration.
  • Drive revenue growth while improving gross margin discipline, quote quality, and forecast accuracy.
  • Install strong commercial operating cadence, including pipeline reviews, forecast calls, quote reviews, and pursuit prioritization.
  • Own Salesforce adoption and use it as a true management tool for pipeline, quoting, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Improve proposal speed, consistency, and profitability.
  • Support consultative selling on larger and more complex opportunities.
  • Partner with operations and service to ensure sold work is executable and aligned with company capacity.
  • Coach, develop, and upgrade commercial talent as needed.
