About The Position

Bring the energy, professionalism, and flexibility to a dynamic hospitality environment. Lead sales efforts that help drive hotel revenue, achieve budget goals, and support continued business growth. Oversee daily Sales department operations to ensure procedures are completed accurately, consistently, and in alignment with brand standards. Champion Shaner Hotels, franchise, hotel, and departmental policies by keeping the Sales team informed, aligned, and ready to succeed. Build strong knowledge of key customers and accounts, including corporations, agencies, associations, tour operators, sports teams, and other organizations that purchase hotel services. Identify fresh opportunities, new market segments, and creative strategies that expand the hotel’s reach and revenue potential. Create engaging packages, promotions, and advertising initiatives that help increase occupancy during slower periods. Represent the hotel with enthusiasm at trade shows, chamber events, civic functions, and local organization meetings to strengthen community and business partnerships. Partner closely with the General Manager, department leaders, and hotel team members to keep communication clear and collaboration strong. Motivate, guide, and manage team performance to create a productive, positive, and high-quality work environment. Manage the Sales Department’s annual budget with a focus on smart planning, accountability, and results. Availability for weekends, holidays, and varied shifts based on business needs. Take on additional duties as assigned and contribute wherever needed to support hotel success. As Director of Sales, you will play a key role in shaping the hotel’s success by building meaningful client relationships, developing new business, promoting the property with confidence, and leading sales strategies that drive top-line revenue. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated hospitality sales professional to make a visible impact while guiding all aspects of the Sales Department.

Requirements

  • At least five years of progressive sales experience, with hospitality industry experience strongly preferred.
  • A confident communicator who can connect effectively with guests, clients, management, and team members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, banquet event orders, and related documents.
  • Ability to prepare professional reports, correspondence, budgets, and cost-control plans.
  • Comfort presenting to groups of customers, employees, and business partners.
  • Familiarity with sales and marketing tools that support prospecting, account management, and revenue growth.
  • Knowledge of banquet setup requirements and the ability to use B.E.O. details to support successful events.
  • Knowledge of local activities and attractions to create a great guest and client experience.

Nice To Haves

  • A college degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
  • Strong awareness of the local economy, market conditions, and opportunities for growth.
  • Working knowledge of hotel operations and the ability to partner across departments.
