The Director of Sales is responsible for ensuring delivery of core business goals - establishing Costco prominence, delivering incremental sales, and fostering trusting retailer relationships that can be leveraged in the future. They are responsible for supporting and developing ongoing processes at a regional level and will be the main driver of top line revenue growth and the lead for ongoing strategic planning and communication. The Director of Sales will own top-to-top communication with key leadership team members internally and externally. This is a Fully Remote role, and the candidate must be local to the East Coast. The salary range is $145,000 - $155,000 based on experience, qualifications and skills. Travel Requirements: Up to 25% - travel possibilities would include major industry shows, client meetings, team trainings, leadership trainings and travel to corporate offices; Min 1x/region/month; Top tier clients – quarterly.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a sales function required; Experience in a sales leadership position.
  • Must have experience working with and selling to Costco.
  • Must have experience selling product direct to Costco and across multiple regions and categories throughout the club.
  • A demonstrated competency in multi-tasking and problem-solving with focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinker; can turn self-developed strategies/efficient processes into execution.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience building and managing Costco programs.
  • Advanced communications skills, ability to clearly articulate complex concepts in a concise manner and establish rapport quickly.
  • Bachelor’s degree and other relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring delivery of core business goals - establishing Costco prominence, delivering incremental sales, and fostering trusting retailer relationships that can be leveraged in the future.
  • Supporting and developing ongoing processes at a regional level.
  • Driving top line revenue growth.
  • Leading ongoing strategic planning and communication.
  • Owning top-to-top communication with key leadership team members internally and externally.
  • Cross-functional, collaborative engagement with Leadership, Account Managers and Sales Support through the employee lifecycle.
  • Facilitating a transparent collaborative partnership with clients & internal cross-functional team members.
  • Responsible for the implementation of CAF selling techniques.
  • Coordinating with clients to develop and implement any applicable specific brand training.
  • Participating in regular market interaction with team to understand the situation “on the ground” and provide active guidance and ongoing training, as necessary.
  • Ensuring team is trained on appropriate tools and technology, and that those tools and technology are being put to proper use.
  • Utilizing shared appointment calendar.
  • Providing Meeting Recaps – 24hr post meeting, next business day.
  • Regular, consistent client communication to manage business.
  • Proactive communication.
  • Close of business acknowledgement with client/buyer.
  • 24-hour response towards resolution.
  • Performing Monthly comps/clubs walks in assigned Costco regions.
  • Purchasing competitive samples/Recap to team as needed.
  • Communicating with leadership on a regular basis to help problem solve and ensure best practices are being shared.
  • Providing direction to clients on the best way to package information that allows for the CAF team to understand and leverage the proper resources to execute respective responsibilities.
  • Acting as the conduit of communication for all significant information flow with supervisors and the client teams, including regular communication with the client Director or Retail.
