A significant portion of time (80%) should be dedicated to active sales solicitation. The role also involves sending proposals, following up on leads, documenting client requirements, and ensuring accurate reservation of facilities. Maintaining a sales quota, ensuring customer satisfaction, and communicating with various hotel departments are key aspects of this position. The Director of Sales is also responsible for preparing weekly sales call reports and itineraries for the General Manager, practicing a culture of guest service, and fostering a positive work environment. They must also follow property safety and security procedures and assist the General Manager on special projects.
