About The Position

NH Collection New York Madison Avenue is seeking an accomplished luxury/lifestyle commercial leader to serve as Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the team. Set on Madison Avenue in a restored 1923 landmark building, NH Collection New York Madison Avenue places guests at the crossroads of Midtown’s business, culture, and transportation hubs. Steps from Grand Central Terminal, Fifth Avenue shopping, Bryant Park, the New York Public Library, and the Empire State Building, the hotel offers seamless access throughout Manhattan - and beyond - via nearby public transit and regional trains. Guests also enjoy exclusive access to curated experiences and preferred offerings at select nearby attractions, including some of New York’s most iconic landmarks.

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Director of Sales and Marketing capacity within a luxury, upscale and/or boutique hotel environment is required.
• Independent lifestyle experience is required.
• NYC experience is required.
• East Side preferred.
• Hands on account management for corporate accounts (domestic and international), diplomatic and consortia experience required.
• Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and delivering exceptional results.
• Inspirational leader with a collaborative, hands-on style and the ability to foster talent.
• Expertise in digital marketing, brand positioning, and revenue optimization.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and adapt quickly to market dynamics.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively within a global brand framework while identifying opportunities, challenging convention, and moving quickly from strategy to execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy to drive revenue across all market segments: corporate, leisure, group, and catering.
• Shape and communicate a distinctive luxury/lifestyle market position for the hotel, translating its New York identity, NH Collection brand promise, and guest experience into compelling commercial storytelling.
• Build demand through luxury travel advisors, consortia, international feeder markets, corporate and diplomatic relationships, and strategic partnerships across fashion, entertainment, culture, and lifestyle.
• Identify and develop new demand channels rather than relying solely on established account production, with clear accountability for market share, segment penetration, conversion, account production, and marketing ROI.
• Partner closely with Revenue Management and the General Manager as an integrated commercial leadership team, aligning sales, marketing, pricing, positioning, and profitability strategies.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key corporate accounts, meeting planners, and travel industry partners.
• Lead and inspire a high-performing sales and marketing team with a focus on results, collaboration, and creativity.
• Oversee the digital marketing strategy, ensuring optimal presence across all online channels, social media platforms, and luxury brand partnerships.
• Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and performance metrics to adjust strategy and seize new opportunities.
• Represent the hotel at key industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to position the property as the market leader.
