About The Position

The Director of Sales, K-12 Independent School Growth is responsible for driving revenue through net-new customer acquisition, cross-sell, and upsell expansion by managing the entire sales motion from top-of-funnel prospecting through to final close. This role requires deep, specialized knowledge of the K-12 private independent school market, with a firm operational grasp of student recruitment, enrollment, tuition management, financial aid, and the entire Net Tuition Revenue (NTR) process. The Director of Sales, will build, train, and lead a high-performing sales organization comprising both Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and Account Executives (AEs). The ideal candidate brings strong CRM discipline and understands how to leverage artificial intelligence and modern sales technology to accelerate sales productivity, enhance team coaching, and optimize the sales funnel. While direct sales experience in the private school space is preferred, leadership backgrounds in higher education, tech or institutional enrollment management with transferable domain skills are highly welcome.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant industry certifications preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in EdTech or the private independent school market (or equivalent leadership experience in the higher education market with transferable domain skills).
  • Hands-on experience directing or managing both SDR (prospecting) and AE (closing) functions.
  • Prior background as a Director of Enrollment, Director of Financial Aid, or Head of School at a top-tier independent school is highly valued and considered highly transferable.
  • Deep operational understanding of the K-12 private independent school market, including tuition management, financial aid, and the student recruitment lifecycle.
  • Clear understanding of how these factors directly impact a school's Net Tuition Revenue (NTR).
  • Proficiency working with Salesforce and conversation intelligence / revenue workflow tools like Momentum software.
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt and teach AI enablement tools to improve team performance.
  • Proven ability to build outbound and inbound programs that successfully drive net-new business and account expansion.
  • Strong operational rigor with a data-driven approach to tracking conversion rates, pipeline velocity, and win/loss metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and scale the full sales lifecycle, providing strategic direction and daily management for both the SDR prospecting motion and the AE closing motion.
  • Build, operationalize, and manage SDR programs to ensure the steady creation of cross-sell, net-new, and upsell opportunities.
  • Drive the attainment of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets through disciplined pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and effective execution.
  • Leverage Salesforce and Momentum software, incorporating AI-driven tools to enhance conversational coaching, accelerating selling skill development, and maximizing daily sales productivity.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to improve lead quality, streamline the customer journey, and maximize cross-sell/upsell execution.
  • Implement specialized sales playbooks and maintain strict data hygiene to optimize sales stage conversion rates and shorten deal cycles.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, coaching team members on discovery, industry-specific pain points, and closing skills.
