Director of Sales and Marketing

Courtyard By MarriottSomerset, NJ
Onsite

About The Position

At Newport Hospitality Group, we believe in Living Hospitality, not just for our guests, but for our team members, clients, and communities. As the Director of Sales & Marketing at the Courtyard Somerset, you'll be the driving force behind the hotel's revenue strategy, community presence, and business growth. No two days are exactly alike, and that's what makes this role exciting. Your morning may begin with a cup of coffee in the lobby, greeting familiar corporate guests and checking in with clients before reviewing the hotel's performance. From there, you're out building relationships. Whether you're meeting with a wedding venue, touring a prospective corporate client through the hotel, attending a networking event, or connecting with a meeting planner, you're constantly creating opportunities that drive revenue and strengthen the hotel's reputation in the community. Back at the hotel, you'll partner with operations teams to ensure every group, corporate account, and guest experience exceeds expectations. You understand that sales doesn't stop when the contract is signed—it continues through every interaction that creates a loyal customer. Throughout the day, you'll evaluate market conditions, monitor competitor activity, review upcoming demand, and adjust strategies to maximize revenue. You'll also work closely with regional leadership to develop sales initiatives, marketing campaigns, and business plans that support both short-term results and long-term growth. Some days you'll celebrate a major account win. Other days you'll be brainstorming creative ways to attract new business or coaching team members on how to elevate the guest experience. Every day, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the success of the hotel.
