We're looking for a visionary, people-focused Director of Safety to lead and elevate our enterprise safety strategy across our North American manufacturing network. This highly visible leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced safety professional who thrives on building culture, developing teams, and creating world-class safety programs that protect employees while supporting operational excellence. As Director of Safety, you will provide strategic leadership for all occupational health and safety initiatives while leading a team of Regional Safety Managers and site-level safety professionals. You'll partner closely with Operations, Human Resources, Engineering, Environmental, and executive leadership to create a proactive, sustainable safety culture that drives continuous improvement across the organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing safety leadership.
  • Multi-site leadership experience.
  • Experience managing direct reports.
  • Comprehensive OSHA knowledge.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CSP, ASP, GSP, CIH, or similar certification.
  • Plastics, packaging, chemical processing, or high-volume manufacturing experience.
  • Enterprise safety management systems experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Regional Safety Managers, Safety Specialists, and site-level safety professionals.
  • Establish consistent safety expectations, accountability, and best practices across manufacturing facilities.
  • Build organizational capability through coaching, leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture where safety is embedded into every level of the organization.
  • Develop and execute Pretium's enterprise-wide occupational safety strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable regulations.
  • Standardize safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and enterprise-wide lessons learned.
  • Drive proactive risk assessments, industrial hygiene initiatives, ergonomics, and injury prevention programs.
  • Establish leading and lagging safety metrics.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, and Plant Leadership.
  • Participate in capital projects and Management of Change initiatives.
  • Support manufacturing leaders in achieving safety performance objectives.
  • Champion behavioral-based safety programs.
  • Lead safety committees and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Analyze safety trends and share best practices across facilities.
  • Serve as the company's occupational safety subject matter expert.
  • Present safety performance and strategic initiatives to executive leadership.
  • Build relationships with OSHA, insurance carriers, consultants, and industry organizations.
  • Partner with Environmental leadership to align safety and environmental objectives.
