The Opportunity We are looking for a DIRECTOR OF RISK MANAGEMENT who is strategic, proactive, and safety-focused to lead and expand a company-wide asset protection, loss prevention, and safety program that protects Goodwill Central Coast's people, property, and resources. This is an opportunity to lead risk management initiatives, investigate incidents, strengthen safety practices, and reduce organizational loss while contributing to a mission that matters.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Criminal Justice or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in loss prevention or an equivalent field; prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid Class C California driver's license and ability to drive for Company business.
  • Knowledge of safety and loss prevention systems, procedures, equipment, and techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand Goodwill Central Coast's company-wide asset protection and safety program.
  • Oversee risk management policies and procedures involving asset protection, internal investigations, property loss, workplace safety, CCTV, dangerous-item control, inventory spot checks, and POS/cashiering procedures.
  • Conduct and oversee investigations involving personal injury and property loss, including site visits, safety assessments, follow-up, and retraining when appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local District Attorney's offices and law enforcement to support prosecution or recovery of assets when appropriate.
  • Supervise Risk Management staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, discipline, promotion/demotion, termination, and salary change recommendations in accordance with Company policy.
  • Develop a safe work environment through safety training, communication of safety information, and regular safety inspections at GCC facilities.
  • Oversee CCTV camera placement, maintenance, archive control, investigations, and live-feed monitoring.
  • Ensure required documentation and payroll responsibilities for direct reports are completed accurately and confidentially.
