About The Position

This role oversees all of Florida Trend’s digital offerings, including websites, e-mail blasts, and e-newsletters. The Director of Revenue Operations works with the Executive Editor and Publisher to plan and implement the Company’s web strategies, ensuring that various company goals are represented in digital products. This position also contributes to the development of the Company’s long-range goals, objectives, and strategies.

Requirements

  • Consistently demonstrate a collaborative attitude to build positive working relationships with colleagues on all levels.
  • 4-year college degree.
  • Advanced computer skills, including web design, HTML, CSS, photo editing, and animation, and additional skills as the job requires.
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of web technology, internet presentation (GUI), and SEO/SEM for both PC and Mac platforms.
  • Demonstrate command of the Adobe Design suite of programs.
  • Understand e-mail marketing technical requirements.
  • At least one year of journalism experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with economics and business strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, promote, and develop the Company’s websites through continual review of site performance and web analytics.
  • Stay abreast of current Internet trends and update skills in web design, HTML, etc.
  • Provide reliable guidance to the Publisher and the Company’s editorial, advertising, production, and marketing departments regarding the web.
  • Facilitate understanding of the web and coordinate web-related activities across departments.
  • Plan and execute the web department’s expense budget.
  • Maintain good relationships with web vendors and the hosting company.
  • Manage needed domain name registrations and renewals.
  • Efficiently present content on the Company’s websites, redesigning layouts for optimal web display and traffic.
  • Create multimedia presentations, including audio, video, Flash infographics, and e-zines when appropriate.
  • Supervise and collaborate with the Web Editor and Online Publishing Specialist.
  • Assist the Web Editor with graphics, proofreading, etc., for the Daily Pulse and fill in as needed to produce the Daily Pulse.
  • Help create Web advertising and marketing materials, including house ads, PDFs, and e-zines.
  • Create and maintain the online Media Kit.
  • Use Web analytics to support sales and marketing efforts.
  • Work with the Online Publishing Specialist to handle customer-service-related e-mail baskets.
  • Work with Audience Development to maintain the Company’s integrated database of web- and print-subscribers.
