About The Position

Empowered for Excellence Behavioral Health is a nonprofit agency that offers specialized counseling in the field of substance abuse, mental health, and behavioral treatment services. Our mission is to provide comprehensive and compassionate, integrated mental health and substance abuse services which are client-focused and culturally inclusive to fulfill personal goals. Our commitment is to deliver the highest quality of treatment through faith-based principles, education advocacy, and service excellence. Working under administrative direction oversees all operations and services associated with recovery housing and services. Ensures that assigned work unit(s) operates in an efficient and effective manner. Ensures that proper policies, procedures, and protocols are developed and in place, required reporting is completed, and all standards are met. Helps to ensure that the Housing Manager is creating a safe environment for residents and staff, being ORH compliant, overseeing problems while implementing solutions that are effective for residents and staff. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a college university and a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of five years’ experience can be substituted.
  • Must possess current CDCA certification
  • Must possess valid vehicle operator’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior case management experience in behavioral health and/or SUD is preferred
  • Complete agency required QMHS training within 30 days of hire
  • CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, monitors all activities associated with and assigned to the recovery housing services department; prepares reports, training, and presentations as needed; communicates and relays pertinent information and facilitates problem solving with management and others delegated by supervisor; identifies areas for improvement and acts to implement change towards continuous quality improvement; participates in training, and supervising assigned staff; provides positive supervision of assigned staff; establishes staff work schedules, review and approve staff timecards, leave requests, and other documentation as required; ensures that agency and other applicable policies and procedures are adhered to; ensures compliance with accrediting bodies; ensure the safety, security, and efficiency of the facility; schedules and facilitates recovery house care management meetings; provides accurate and complete documentation to validate supervisory and professional actions.
  • Check safety equipment and ensure it is good working order.
  • Check the home periodically for physical safety hazards such as overloaded electrical outlets, ensuring egresses are not blocked, etc.
  • Be available in case any resident needs additional support or has a question.
  • Assist with filing and/or reviewing resident grievances.
  • Respond to neighbor concerns.
  • Respond to incidents at the recovery home, ensure an appropriate response, and document the incident appropriately.
  • Respond when residents are not upholding the Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure the house is free from alcohol and illicit substances.
  • Ensure residents are following the Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure there are no prohibited items in the home.
  • Ensure that residents are accounted for, and additional support needs are met.
  • Model recovery principles and prosocial behavior.
  • Help monitor residents for any potential warning signs concerning recurrence of symptoms and refer them for more support.
