About The Position

Magdala House is seeking an experienced, innovative, and solution-focused individual to serve as our Director of Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled Adults Programs. The Program Director is responsible for the overall leadership, operations, compliance, staffing, and quality management of Magdala House’s Residential Habilitation (ISL) programs. The Director is one of the most important roles in the IDD Programs and is responsible for the overall operations of Magdala’s IDD Programs, overseeing residential supervisors, program operations, staffing systems, participant services, and regulatory readiness while collaborating closely with nursing, training, finance, HR, and adult day care program director to ensure continuity care and operational excellence. This role reports to the Vice President of Residential Programs.

  • Master’s Degree Preferred. Bachelor’s degree in social services, leadership & development, business management, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role within the healthcare or IDD industries, with proven effectiveness.
  • Experience with DMH regulations, Medicaid Waiver programs, and multi-site residential operations preferred
  • Working knowledge of Therap, HRST, QuickMAR/Everspring, and related systems preferred
  • Class F Driver’s License in good standing

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of Residential Habilitation (ISL) programs
  • Under the director of the Vice President of Residential Programs, ensure programs operate in compliance with DMH, Medicaid Waiver, and all applicable state and federal regulations
  • Maintain safe, clean, structured, and person-centered residential environments
  • Conduct routine site visits, inspections, and operational assessments
  • Lead crisis response, problem-solving, and operational escalations
  • Schedule and lead meetings with supervisors and interdisciplinary teams
  • Provide regular operational updates and recommendations to executive leadership
  • Maintain continuous survey and audit readiness
  • Oversee completion and accuracy of ISPs, MAAS assessments, Medicare/Medicaid renewals, staffing patterns, incident reports, emergency drills, and transportation documentation
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and audit-ready
  • Monitor use and compliance within Therap, QuickMAR/Everspring, and related systems
  • Directly supervise House Supervisors and assigned leadership staff
  • Recruit, interview, coach, and evaluate staff
  • Ensure staffing levels and schedules align with participant needs and approved budgets
  • Address employee performance, professionalism, attendance, and workplace concerns promptly
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and participant-centered care
  • Collaborate with the Director of Training to ensure all required trainings, certifications, and competencies are completed timely
  • Reinforce operational procedures, documentation standards, and compliance expectations
  • Support leadership development and ongoing staff coaching
  • Develop and manage ISL budgets, transportation budgets, staffing allocations, and participant-related expenditures
  • Monitor overtime, spending trends, and operational costs
  • Approve supervisor timesheets, mileage, and operational purchases
  • Collaborate with Finance regarding billing, utilization, and budget variances
  • Collaborate with adult day care program director to support continuity of care and participant needs
  • Maintain professional relationships with guardians, families, support coordinators, medical professionals, and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and support in the least restrictive environment possible
