About The Position

The Director of Residential Services will oversee Residential Services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our residential programs create safe, supportive living environments where individuals receive personalized care and assistance tailored to their unique needs. JRI’s Developing Abilities programs provide comprehensive support for individuals with developmental disabilities, offering services that promote independence, skill development, and community integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human service or related field required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Two years of experience in human service management.
  • Two years of experience working with multiple entities to optimize operating programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to lead people and projects.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive, positive relationships.
  • MAP, First Aid, CPR certification and certification in non-violent crisis intervention and prevention techniques.
  • Ability to work independently without a supervisor or other colleagues present.
  • Maintains valid driver’s license and ability to drive consumers in agency vehicles and own a vehicle if necessary.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in human services, public policy, or related field can be substituted for two years of management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cluster of JRI Developing Abilities’ residential services.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff for residential services.
  • Oversee and implement operational systems for residential services, including recruitment, hiring, training, human resources, quality assurance, nursing, clinical, and administrative/fiscal functions.
  • Provide after-hours on-call support for services.
  • Develop systems that ensure best practices, data-informed efforts, and continuous quality improvement of services, including compliance with DDS licensing, certification, and accreditation systems.
  • Participate in the JRI Developing Abilities Administrative Team (Ad Team), Risk Management activities, and Safety Committee activities.
  • Oversee systems for managing all facilities and fleet, including planning routine repairs, vehicle maintenance, furnishings, and project management.
  • Oversee and monitor the use of contracted services and temporary staff.
  • Organize resources, implement systems, and oversee ongoing activities to ensure the appropriate delivery of all services and quality care in safe and healthful environments through the availability of adequate staffing, clinical, administrative, and technical resources, as well as other supports.
  • Ensure sufficient staffing resources, support, and backup are available for each program and maintain effective communication during emergencies or unusual events involving programs.
  • Implement systems for trauma-informed, strength-based positive behavior support practices that align with program guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
