About The Position

The Director of Residential Operations maintains high-quality programs in accordance with the mission statement, state regulations and the standards and policies of Woods Community Services. The Director of Residential Operations is responsible for all operations for chapters 6400 and 6500 including compliance, growth and development, budget and workforce development. Programs include residential homes, personalized supports, supported employment, and person-centered planning for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with five years of related experience in administrative and supervisory roles
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as mandated by Woods’ insurance company with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
  • Understanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilities
  • Understanding of funding sources and entitlement programs for people with disabilities
  • Understanding of Performance-based contracts for ODP including performance measures, reporting requirements, and deadlines.
  • Ability to partner across internal/external stakeholders, government officials, and industry associations
  • Confident with public speaking at events, conferences, and on social media platforms
  • Team oriented with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Ability to effectively present facts and recommendations verbally and in written form
  • Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must obtain and maintain an active CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Excellent time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily operations and compliance with state licensing and reporting standards.
  • Assess operational issues and develop comprehensive solutions to maintain a high-quality program.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of program and services performed.
  • Promote and maintain a positive public image Woods Community Services and our mission.
  • Develop, implement, supervise and coordinate all office procedures, programs and services.
  • Recommend sound personnel practices in employee recruitment, evaluations, compensation, employee benefits, and terminations.
  • Partner with Human Resources to address personnel and performance issues.
  • May conduct programmatic investigations.
  • Institute and maintain appropriate management, financial and personnel controls, and provides the CEO with the necessary documentation and paperwork.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budget and all financial and service reports as needed
  • Interface with local, state and governmental agencies.
  • Participate in developing long and short-term program goals, objectives, and systems
  • Cooperate with audits, inspections, and investigations.
  • Provide ongoing supervision to the Program Supervisors and Program Specialist.
  • Meets regularly with CEO to review programmatic and budgetary matters.
  • Ensures that services are provided and are consistent with individual needs and best practice guidelines.
  • Participate in Human Rights Team restrictive procedure reviews, and work with clinical team to support other initiatives.
  • Responsible for qualification and requalification of new and existing services. Responsible for overseeing waiver compliance and updating agency DP1059 form.
  • Complete license applications utilizing HCSIS/CLS system.
  • Assumes the role of the on-call administrator. Completes incident reports as required. After receiving appropriate training, conducts HCSIS investigations.
  • Participates in the admission process for assigned programs.
  • Researches new programs, writes proposals, and recommends agency involvement in new program areas.
  • Participates in quality improvement and quality assurance/risk management, and accrediting activities.
  • Conducts routine quality checks to ensure high-level programming and services. Reviewing ISPs, ensuring staff are compliant with training, resident’s programmatic goals are appropriate and being implemented.
  • Maintains effective communication and working relationships with Woods Community Services management, colleagues and subordinates.
  • Performs the skills of CPR, the use of the AED, the First Aid on a resident in need, with delay.
  • Other duties as assigned or deemed appropriate.
