About The Position

Kendal-Crosslands Communities is seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Resident Care for our Crosslands community who will create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth while fostering a calm, welcoming environment throughout the office. This leadership role oversees resident care services for independent living residents and campus home care clients, ensuring high-quality clinical support, strong interdisciplinary collaboration, and continued growth of the Home Care Services Program. The Director of Resident Care provides leadership and operational oversight for resident care and home care clinical services. The role manages nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, support staff, and care coordination activities while partnering with residents, families, and providers to deliver safe, responsive, resident-centered care.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in community health, home care, primary care, or a related setting.
  • At least 5 years of clinical nursing experience in a long-term care environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively, and work a flexible schedule as needed, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Resident Care Department and oversee home care clinical services on campus.
  • Supervise and support clinical and administrative team members, including nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, and care support staff.
  • Promote resident wellness through health maintenance, assessments, care coordination, and timely follow-up on clinical needs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, medication management oversight, and effective communication with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Respond to resident care concerns, help manage urgent situations calmly and professionally, and support safe transitions across levels of care.
  • Maintain departmental standards for staffing, supplies, equipment, compliance, and quality clinical operations.
  • Partner with leadership to expand and strengthen the Home Care Services Program.
