About The Position

The Director of Recreation will plan, organize, control and direct the work of employees in the Resort's Pool & Beach and Seaway Restaurant operation while ensuring guest satisfaction. This role involves managing the Cabana Program, all outdoor recreation operations including adult and family pools, water sports, and the Seaway restaurant, as well as the Pool Bar and restaurant seating area. The Director will drive creativity and innovation in guest experiences and product development, control labor and operating expenses through effective management, attend operational meetings, and observe the physical condition of facilities and equipment, making recommendations for improvements. The role also requires working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.

Requirements

  • Ability to train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the Pool & Beach and restaurant.
  • Ability to be visible in the operation, provide recognition, strong guest engagement skills to effective develop a rapport and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts.
  • Assist with the service and preparation of beverage and food to guests and Amenities.
  • Provide expert knowledge of wine, beer, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Ensure quality of all food or beverage items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Follow and maintain all local, state, and federal laws relating to alcohol service and consumption.
  • Manage Cabana Program for the hotel to ensure a five-star Cabana guest experience.
  • Manage all outdoor recreation operations in the hotel including adult pool, family pool, waters ports, and Seaway restaurant.
  • Manage Pool Bar & restaurant Seating area.
  • Dynamic Management style to drive creativity and innovation in Pool, Beach, and Restaurant guest experience and product development.
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.
  • Attend operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
  • Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment on a daily basis in the Pool & Beach and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
