About The Position

The Director of Radiology Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all radiology and imaging services across multiple locations. This role is responsible for the operational, financial, programmatic, and personnel management of the Radiology Department, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, fiscal accountability, and alignment with organizational goals. The Director collaborates closely with physicians, hospital leadership, and clinical staff to deliver exceptional imaging services while fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, innovation, and patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology (college-affiliated or hospital-trained).
  • Bachelor's degree required or strongly preferred.
  • Current Utah State Radiologic Technologist License.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in diagnostic imaging and special procedures.
  • Previous leadership, management, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, staffing, regulatory compliance, and operational management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Knowledge of radiology operations, imaging technologies, and healthcare regulations.
  • Experience with Lean principles and continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial data and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee daily operations of Radiology Services across multiple facilities.
  • Establish, monitor, and achieve departmental goals and objectives aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Support and empower staff to embrace the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Promote a culture of patient-centered care, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate departmental activities with physicians, administration, and other clinical departments.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets.
  • Ensure responsible fiscal operations and resource utilization.
  • Monitor productivity metrics and implement staffing models that support operational efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate charge capture and compliance with payer regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and licensing requirements.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies and process improvement tools.
  • Maintain ongoing readiness for regulatory and accreditation surveys.
  • Direct recruitment, selection, onboarding, performance management, and employee development activities.
  • Establish performance standards and conduct employee evaluations.
  • Foster employee engagement through communication, recognition, and professional development.
  • Lead departmental continuing education and training programs.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate organizational goals, financial performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality imaging services that meet patient needs and organizational standards.
  • Promote exceptional patient satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and safety.
  • Develop marketing initiatives that position the department as a preferred provider of imaging services.
  • Engage with professional organizations and community stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Prepare and present departmental reports related to utilization, productivity, outcomes, and quality metrics.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance and reliability.
  • Build collaborative relationships with physicians, administrators, staff, and community stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization positively within the community and profession.
  • Adhere to all ethical, compliance, and confidentiality standards.
