About The Position
The Director of R&D & Formulation provides scientific leadership for all formulation activities within the Austin Innovation Center. This individual oversees laboratory operations, manages technical staff, establishes innovation strategy, and ensures successful commercialization of new products. The Director partners closely with Manufacturing, Commercial, Regulatory, and Executive Leadership to drive innovation while maintaining operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or Cosmetic Science
- 10+ years cosmetic formulation experience
- 5+ years leadership experience
- US citizens only
- Proven success leading technical teams
- Strong client management skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Deep understanding of formulation science and commercialization
Responsibilities
- Lead all formulation activities
- Manage laboratory operations
- Supervise Senior and Junior Chemists
- Establish formulation best practices
- Review technical project progress
- Support strategic customer relationships
