The Director of Quality Engineering is responsible for leading BLOX’s quality engineering strategy across product design, manufacturing, supply chain, field execution, and warranty. The primary objective of this role is to build quality into BLOX products and processes rather than relying on inspection to identify defects after they occur. This leader will work across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Program Management, Field Operations, and Warranty to reduce variation, eliminate recurring defects, improve product reliability, and drive permanent corrective action. Initial direct reports will include: Key Responsibilities The Director of Quality Engineering is expected to: Serve as a technical problem-solving leader rather than primarily an inspection or compliance leader. Spend meaningful time where work occurs—in engineering, manufacturing, supplier operations, and the field. Use data and engineering analysis to identify systemic issues and drive permanent resolution. Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Field Operations. Simplify processes where possible while maintaining appropriate controls. Develop the technical and problem-solving capability of the Quality Engineering team and broader organization. Clearly communicate quality risks, priorities, and corrective actions to employees, leadership, customers, and suppliers.
