About The Position

MARS Energy Solutions is hiring a Director of Safety & Quality to lead and elevate field execution across our operations. This is not a role built around maintaining an existing program. This is an opportunity to build structure, create consistency, and establish accountability across both safety performance and quality standards. The ideal candidate understands that safety and quality are directly connected. Strong planning, disciplined execution, proper training, and accountability in the field improve both incident prevention and project outcomes. This role will partner closely with construction and project leadership to reduce operational risk, improve field performance, minimize rework and warranty exposure, and strengthen overall execution across projects.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of leadership experience in construction, energy, industrial, or other field-based operations
  • Experience managing safety and/or quality programs across multiple job sites
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, NFPA 70E, and construction safety standards
  • Experience with workers’ compensation programs, EMR/XMod impact, and incident reduction strategies
  • Strong understanding of field operations, execution risk, and quality control practices
  • Ability to drive accountability and influence operational behavior in field environments
  • Clear communicator with strong problem-solving and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 500 / 510
  • CSP, ASP, CHST, or similar certifications
  • Solar, electrical, or utility-scale construction experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build and implement practical safety programs that work in real field environments
  • Lead job site audits, inspections, observations, and corrective action efforts
  • Drive compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and applicable safety regulations
  • Lead incident investigations and identify root causes and corrective actions
  • Improve return-to-work execution and transitional duty participation
  • Influence EMR/XMod performance through improved safety outcomes and reduced claim impact
  • Establish and standardize field quality expectations across projects
  • Partner with operations leadership to improve workmanship and consistency
  • Reduce rework, field defects, punch list issues, and warranty exposure
  • Support MOP reviews, installation standards, and execution planning
  • Identify operational gaps and implement scalable process improvements
  • Track trends and performance metrics related to safety, quality, and field execution
  • Drive accountability across field leadership and project teams
  • Influence culture through consistency, communication, and presence in the field
  • Coach leaders and crews on expectations, execution, and best practices
  • Provide reporting, trend analysis, and operational recommendations to executive leadership
