About The Position

We are recruiting a Director of Psychology & Recovery Services for the Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital, accountable for clinical governance, program execution, and multidisciplinary coordination. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role sets hospital strategy and professional standards; leads selection, training, evaluation, and assignment of psychologists and senior recovery services clinicians; and partners closely with psychiatry on multidisciplinary treatment teams. The Director ensures regulatory compliance for clinical services, provides clinical consultation and assessment expertise, and drives goals, outcomes, and quality aligned with Department of Mental Health Agency of Human Services practices (customer service, holistic service, strengths-based relationships, results orientation). The position also leads cross-agency coordination with Designated Agencies and hospital programs, contributes to program development (including specialized procedures and grant/research initiatives), participates in hospital committees, and provides supervision of interns.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a Psychologist-Doctorate in Vermont
  • Five (5) years or more of professional experience in clinical psychology
  • One (1) year or more involving treatment of emotionally disturbed clients
  • Pass a fingerprint supported background investigation
  • Pass Vermont and/or national criminal record checks
  • Pass DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate
