About The Position

Viridian Staffing’s Client is currently seeking a Director of Production & Manufacturing to lead the build-out and day-to-day operations of a startup cannabis manufacturing and processing facility about a 1 hour drive outside of Jacksonville, Florida. This role involves leading the day-to-day operations of a regulated cannabis manufacturing and fulfillment facility, overseeing extraction, kitchen operations, production, packaging, fulfillment, and distribution. The position requires building processes, systems, and teams from the ground up, overseeing scheduling, safety, administration, supply chain, quality, production, maintenance, and logistics, ensuring compliance with state regulations, GMP standards, and internal SOPs. Responsibilities also include managing inventory and dispatch operations, implementing inventory control procedures, and optimizing workflows. The role partners closely with cultivation and testing teams to ensure a seamless transition from post-harvest material into finished products. The ideal candidate will build and lead the production team, requiring strong people management experience and the ability to develop talent in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of experience managing a production or manufacturing operation.
  • 2+ years of direct people management experience.
  • Experience in a regulated environment such as cannabis, hemp, food production, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, FDA guidelines, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to explain complex processes to non-technical stakeholders.
