Small Door is a membership-based veterinary care service that aims to provide a better experience for pets, pet parents, and veterinarians. They offer exceptional care, 24/7 telemedicine, and transparent pricing through a modern, hospitality-driven approach in stress-free environments. Founded in 2019 in Manhattan's West Village, Small Door has expanded across the East Coast, including New York City, Boston, Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia, with further expansion planned for 2026. The company's founders have a history of building successful companies, partnering with leaders from well-known consumer brands like Warby Parker and Sweetgreen, as well as healthcare innovators like One Medical, CityMD, and Flatiron Health. Small Door has secured funding from prominent investors such as Lerer Hippeau, Primary Ventures, Brand Foundry, Toba Capital, and Pentland Group. The management team comprises experienced professionals from companies like Casper, One Medical, Soulcycle, Warby Parker, Sweetgreen, Peloton, Gilt Groupe, Lightspeed, and Outbrain. The Director of Product will report to the VP of Data and Technology and will be responsible for the entire product function. This role can be based in New York City or Montreal. The company is looking for a senior, hands-on Director of Product to manage their consumer and staff-facing product portfolio, which includes their website, mobile app, booking systems, membership management, internal applications, and telehealth services. This individual will also lead product workstreams for the integration of newly combined practice groups, playing a crucial role in shaping the future of the company through product decisions over the next year. This is an end-to-end role where the individual will manage problems from discovery to shipment, utilizing AI tools like Claude for rapid prototyping, stakeholder collaboration, and staying involved throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The role involves close collaboration with a senior engineering and data team, emphasizing a partnership approach where product and engineering work together from the outset. Strong product judgment will be demonstrated through effective communication with clinical staff and leadership to understand operational realities, and by making data-driven cases for product direction tied to company goals and KPIs.
