About The Position

Meissner is seeking a visionary Director of Product Management to lead their Product Management function. This role involves strategizing with senior management, driving strategic solutions for cutting-edge products in critical pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, identifying revenue growth opportunities, and tackling competitive challenges. The Director will shape the product roadmap, lead cross-functional collaboration, and make a lasting impact on the organization's success. Meissner is passionate about helping clients manufacture lifesaving and life-enhancing drugs, therapies, and vaccines through advanced microfiltration products and single-use systems. The company is committed to the development of the whole individual, with programs and a dedicated Learning and Development department to support team growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, portfolio management, commercial operations, or business operations within life sciences, biotech, pharmaceuticals, health tech, or related industries.
  • 4+ years with progressive people management/department-leadership capacity.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders across matrixed organizations.
  • Proven ability to drive business growth through operational excellence and scalable processes.
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling a product management organization.
  • Strong commercial, financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with pricing strategy, forecasting, portfolio/P&L management, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. government due to export regulations.

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting make-to-order, configurable, or customized product businesses, including bioprocessing, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, plastics, media, reagents, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and customer-facing project management organizations.
  • Experience leading process improvement, pricing optimization, operational enablement, and continuous improvement initiatives in complex business environments.
  • Proficiency with ERP, CRM, analytics, and other business systems, with experience supporting high-growth, operationally complex, or rapidly evolving business segments.
  • Experience partnering with global commercial teams across multiple regions.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing, scaling, and leading the company's Product Management function.
  • Refining the operating model within the commercial organization and intra-departmentally.
  • Developing processes that drive customer-centric innovation, commercial growth, and portfolio optimization.
  • Overseeing product strategy, roadmap development, and lifecycle management across Filtration, Single-Use Systems (SUS), Equipment & Hardware, and Services portfolios.
  • Ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer needs, and market opportunities.
  • Building strong partnerships across Engineering, R&D, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership.
  • Establishing or enhancing best practices, prioritization frameworks, portfolio governance, and data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Building a high-performing Product Management organization.
  • Fostering cross-functional collaboration and accountability.
  • Influencing strategic decision-making.
  • Translating product strategy into sustainable business growth and competitive advantage.
  • Establishing and executing the product vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap.
  • Developing and leading the product management operating model, including portfolio governance, product roadmap planning, and prioritization.
  • Providing support for investment decisions to drive consistent product and solution differentiation.
  • Leading end-to-end product lifecycle management across defined product lines, from concept development and business case creation through commercialization, growth, and end-of-life management.
  • Ensuring alignment of portfolio prioritization and resource allocation frameworks.
  • Leveraging customer insights, VOC feedback, market research, competitive intelligence, and performance metrics to drive data-informed investment decisions and maximize business value.
  • Building, leading, and developing a high-performing Product Management organization by defining clear roles, responsibilities, career paths, and performance expectations.
  • Establishing and scaling product management methodologies, governance processes, and best practices.
  • Serving as the primary liaison across Product Management, R&D, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Success.
  • Leading cross-functional initiatives across product development, commercialization, line extensions, upgrades, and portfolio expansion.
  • Partnering with R&D and Engineering to translate customer and market requirements into product priorities.
  • Providing market-defined basis for developing and evaluating business cases, market opportunity assessments, and investment recommendations.
  • Partnering with Finance and executive leadership to optimize portfolio performance and resource allocation.
  • Leading portfolio-level financial planning, including pricing strategy, revenue forecasting, profitability analysis, and investment prioritization.
  • Serving as the senior product leader and trusted advisor to executive leadership.
  • Communicating product strategy, portfolio performance, roadmap priorities, and investment recommendations to executive stakeholders.
