About The Position

MaxLinear is seeking a Director of Product Engineering to join their team. This role focuses on building and mentoring engineering talent, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and innovation. The Director will drive the seamless transition of products from design to manufacturing, owning product manufacturing performance throughout the entire product lifecycle. Key responsibilities include leading product bring-up, silicon validation, characterization, qualification, and production release activities. The role also involves defining organizational strategy, goals, KPIs, and resource plans aligned with company objectives, and collaborating closely with cross-functional organizations to optimize performance, yield, testability, and manufacturability. Establishing manufacturing readiness criteria, ensuring successful product ramp, and owning product yield improvement initiatives across fabrication, assembly, and final test operations are critical. The position requires implementing statistical process control (SPC), DOE, FMEA, and advanced analytics techniques, as well as analyzing product and test data to identify yield detractors and implement corrective actions. Developing strategies to improve cost of test, manufacturing efficiency, and overall product margins, and supporting customer escalations, product quality investigations, and field-return analysis are also key. The Director will establish and manage OSAT scorecards and KPIs to ensure world-class execution in quality, yield, cost, delivery, and cycle time.
