About The Position

T2 Contracting, Inc. is hiring a Director of Preconstruction for its Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina team. This full-time leadership role works directly with ownership to drive estimating strategy and build the company’s preconstruction operations, with a stated path toward becoming VP of Preconstruction as the company expands. Compensation is $150,000–$185,000 per year, depending on experience, plus an annual bonus tied to margin performance on estimated jobs, a company vehicle, and a fuel card. The Director will review production-driven estimates for major water or sewer projects; collaborate with a Project Administrator and Project Engineer on upcoming bids; manage the bid calendar; attend pre-bid meetings and site walks in North Carolina and South Carolina; evaluate opportunities and make bid/no-bid recommendations to ownership; and develop and refine estimating tools, cost databases, equipment rates, templates, and processes. Occasional evening and weekend work is required around bid deadlines. Applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• At least 7 years of estimating experience in heavy civil or underground utility construction.
• Federal bid experience, including USACE projects.
• Ability to build estimates from production rates, not just unit pricing.
• Ability to obtain military base access.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening test.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with HCSS HeavyBid is strongly preferred.
