About The Position

The Director of Practice Management is responsible for management and operations of Sampson Regional Medical Center practices both on and off campus. In collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, will oversee the operations, performance and growth of the practices. Will serve as the overall liaison to the physicians. The selected candidate will work with Sampson Regional Medical Center leadership to ensure positive working relationship between practices and hospital departments, positive financial results and collaborate on the strategic direction of the practices. They will also ensure compliance of federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations in practices.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or a related field, or a combination of general and specialized education and direct experience equivalent to bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Five years of progressive leadership experience and proven success in a physician practice management or healthcare business setting.
  • Experience in the development of new services, professional and ancillary, start-up operations of new practices and offices including design and construction related activities.
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to inspire and motivate staff at all levels towards achieving a common objective.
  • Leads by example, fostering an environment of trust and cooperation.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and executing an operational plan.
  • Knowledge in fiscal management, human resource management techniques, accounting systems, insurance billing and collection, budgets, government regulations and compliance requirements for a medical practice preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as administrative liaison between the individual practices and the hospital.
  • Serves on hospital committees as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with Chief Executive Officer / Chief Medical Officer in supervision of medical staff.
  • Completes or ensures completion of evaluations on all staff in a timely fashion and ensures adequate job descriptions, policies and procedures are established / updated as needed.
  • Formulates, interprets and implements management policies.
  • Implements various operational improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and revenues while minimizing expenses and costs.
  • Investigates complaints received from customers / physicians and resolves issues timely.
  • Maintain liaison with all levels of administration, physicians and outside organizations to accomplish directives, coordinate practice business and facilitate the resolutions of problems.
  • Monitors key practice indicators to identify significant trends, patterns and changes in performance and provide physicians and staff with the necessary information to ensure they are performing at optimum levels.
  • Provides oversight for the selection and supervision of clerical and clinical personnel.
  • May reassign duties to staff based on staff and practice needs.
  • Promotes education and development of staff.
  • Responsible for the preparation of practice operational and capital budgets.
  • Responsible for operating within budgeted guidelines.
  • Serves as public representative for the practices as needed and responsible for interfacing with the community served by the practices.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by CEO.
