The City of Rochester is seeking a Director of Power Resources for Rochester Public Utilities (RPU). This role provides executive-level strategy, direction, and leadership to the RPU organization, with specific management, guidance, administration, and oversight for the Power Resources/Facilities & Fleet business unit. Key accountabilities include the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of energy supply infrastructure, negotiation and administration of power supply contracts, wholesale power transactions, long-range resource planning, environmental compliance, fuel procurement, commodity trading, and wholesale energy/capacity sales. Additionally, this position is responsible for the planning, operation, and maintenance of the organization's facilities and vehicle fleet. The Director of Power Resources reports to the Assistant General Manager - Operations of Rochester Public Utilities and requires significant independent judgment and initiative to align with the utility's short- and long-term vision and goals. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and is expected to be fully on-site.
