About The Position

The Director of Power & EIC will lead all EIC engineering and power systems functions, including medium/low voltage distribution, switchgear, and substations. This role is responsible for providing direction and making final decisions within the electrical scope on technical projects. The position involves overseeing the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical power and control infrastructure, as well as managing and mentoring a multidisciplinary team. The Director will lead capital projects, collaborate with various departments to align technical strategy with business goals, and support business development efforts. Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and codes (NEC, NFPA, UL, IEEE, ISA) and driving improvements in reliability, safety, and uptime across power and automation systems are key aspects of this role. The position also involves evaluating and implementing emerging technologies and ensuring effective coordination and communication within the electrical team and with all project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering
  • PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment
  • 12+ years of experience in power systems and/or EIC engineering.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all EIC engineering and power systems (medium/low voltage distribution, switchgear, substations) functions.
  • Provide direction and make final decisions within the electrical scope on technical projects.
  • Oversee design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical power and control infrastructure.
  • Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and project managers.
  • Lead capital projects including budgeting, planning, risk management, and execution.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and executive leadership to align technical strategy with business goals.
  • Support business development efforts through technical input, proposals, and client engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes -NEC, NFPA, UL, IEEE, ISA.
  • Drive reliability, safety, and uptime improvements across power and automation systems.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies in power systems, energy efficiency, and industrial automation.
  • Ensure electrical team is coordinating and communicating with all project stakeholders, team members, and follows department procedures and standards.
  • Support for initial design on projects including overall objective and scope, supporting and input to developing overall power system design.
  • Provide overview for all electrical deliverables, development on instrument lists, I/O lists, loop and wiring diagrams, incorporating all information from vendor documents, development of ETAP/SLD and power system model, physical layout design, circuit/conduit schedules, support equipment specification, support RFQ packages, develop MTO’s, contractor scope of work.
