About The Position

As a Director of Portfolio Management, you’ll be driving strategic growth of the Investments team by leading key initiatives and shaping investment direction. You’ll be a key member on an investment team dedicated to achieving world-class standards. This position requires the candidate to obtain and pass the Series 65 examination within the first 90 days of employment, unless the license is already held prior to their start date.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in portfolio management, investments, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience specifically in quantitative portfolio management or research, with direct experience in tax aware long-short equity multi-factor strategies, required.
  • Oversee operational excellence across complex custodian integrations and regulatory requirements
  • Proactive oversight of portfolio and strategy level performance and attribution
  • Translate investment research and insights into actionable, systematic investment processes.
  • Cultivate and mentor investment talent, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the investment team.
  • Clear, confident communication skills across multiple mediums
  • A collaborative team player who can juggle priorities and stay composed under pressure
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to shifting priorities without losing sight of the details that matter

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee portfolio management and operations across long-only, long-short equity, and multi-factor strategies.
  • Play a central role onboarding and managing systematic long short equity portfolios.
  • Support the design and implementation of UMH tax strategy.
  • Collaborate with Investment Strategy and Research to evaluate risk exposures, factor performance, and turnover.
  • Partner with Investment Operations to solve complex custodian integrations and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to elevate client engagement and build scalable, repeatable operational frameworks.
  • Proactively identify and highlight emerging risks. Maintain a strict adherence to trading and control standards, promptly escalating issues and leading root-cause analyses to drive timely remediation, client resolution, and stronger controls.
  • Drive multiple strategic cross-functional projects by researching the market and competitive landscape to deliver world-class products and services.
