About The Position

Quinnipiac University's Department of Athletics invites applications for a Director of Player Development, Men's Basketball to assist with the overall development of the men's basketball student-athletes on and off the court. To assist with the overall development of the men’s basketball student-athletes on and off the court in player workouts and student-athlete mentoring. Quinnipiac University is a private, coeducational institution located 90 minutes north of New York City and two hours from Boston. The university currently has an enrollment of 9,700 students in more than 100-degree programs through its Schools of Business, Communications, Computing & Engineering, Education, Health Sciences, Law, Medicine, Nursing and the College of Arts & Sciences. The university is in the midst of program expansion and renewal for both traditional and adult learners, the development of innovative strategic partnerships, and recently opened South Quad with three state-of-the-art buildings. Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience preferably at a NCAA Division I institution or professional sports organization
  • An understanding of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Effective communication and organizational skills, including experience working in the sport of basketball
  • Communication effectively across various stakeholders
  • Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all University, NCAA and Metro Conference rules and regulations.
  • Work in conjunction with the men's basketball staff and athletic administration to mentor student-athletes on and off the court
  • Attend all men’s basketball practices and games. On-court instruction as needed
  • Assist with special projects and other tasks/duties as requested by coaching staff.
