About The Position

Cleveland Clinic Rehab Hospital, a joint venture with Select Medical, is seeking a Director of Plant Operations. This role is part of the hospital leadership team and works collaboratively with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to support the overall operation of the facility, including administrative and technical operations. The Director of Plant Operations serves as the hospital's safety officer, managing the environmental services and security departments to ensure safe operating conditions in compliance with all state, federal, and accrediting agencies. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of facility and grounds maintenance, utility provision, restoration and renovation, and new construction. The role involves planning, directing, and supervising administrative and technical aspects of the department, developing and managing personnel activities, and actively participating in hospital committees, particularly the Safety and Infection Control Committees. A key responsibility is establishing and maintaining a Quality Control Program and ensuring compliance with Environment of Care and OSHA standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in provision of maintenance, environmental services, and related services in a hospital environment required.
  • Knowledge of JCAHO/OSHA regulations and standards required.

  • College Degree related to building construction and maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the hospital’s safety officer
  • Manages the environmental services and security departments to ensure safe operating conditions in compliance with all state, federal and accrediting agencies.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the maintenance of the facility and grounds, the provision of utilities, the restoration and renovation of the facility and new construction.
  • Planning, directing, and supervising all administrative and technical aspects of the department.
  • Developing, reviewing, and managing the activities of self and other personnel in the department.
  • Actively participating in all hospital committees which impact this department, with specific responsibility on the Safety and Infection Control Committees.
  • Establishing and maintaining a Quality Control Program.
  • Responsible for maintaining and Environment of Care and OSHA standards in accordance current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
