About The Position

Voyage Financial Advisors, an independent financial services practice of Thrivent, is seeking a Director of Planning Operations to join their growing team. This full-time role focuses on providing comprehensive financial planning services to clients primarily in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota. The role involves direct client interaction and support for financial advisors, aiming to drive revenue growth through efficient planning and implementation processes.

Requirements

  • Securities (Series 7 and 66 or Series 7, 63 and 65) and resident state Life, Health and Annuities registration.
  • Satisfactory background check, fingerprinting and securities registration and/or insurance licensing verification, if applicable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • Project and Process management experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in financial planning or related financial services roles.
  • CFP® designation preferred or ability to obtain within 2 years of start date.
  • Exceptional people, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with financial planning tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Actively prepare financial analysis and develop financial plans, serving as a hands-on planner day to day.
  • Integrate Microsoft Co-Pilot and other AI tools into process and operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop members of the financial planning team.
  • Oversee preparation, review, and delivery of comprehensive financial plans and ensure accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Assist in the creation of financial plans and help the advisory team by creating straightforward implementation steps for advisors to drive revenue growth.
  • Partner with advisors to support client planning strategy, meeting preparation, and preparing advisor meeting guides.
  • Control and form processes for RMDs, internal payment of policies, death claims, and opportunities.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of client data within planning and CRM systems.
  • Improve and scale planning and meeting prep workflows, tasking, and opportunities to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Directly prep for 20-40 client meetings per week.
  • Serve as a senior planning resource on complex client cases.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and firm information.
  • Ensure adherence to Thrivent policies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
