About The Position

Under general direction of the Senior Director of Operations, develops, directs and provides oversight of the Catholic Charities Pittsburg office. The Director also develops and maintains relationships for the benefits of the clients served in the Pittsburg office service area.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years in housing and working with low-income, economically disadvantaged families is preferred.
  • Preference will be given to applicants that have work experience with HUD programs.
  • Experience with grant funding, implementing and reporting.
  • Supervision experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an understanding of, and support for, the mission of Catholic Charities.
  • Keep up to date on poverty and community change strategies.
  • Assist Catholic Charities’ leadership to determine services to be offered in relationship to capacity, community changes and funding opportunities.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff.
  • Align all actions according to agency's CARE values: Compassion, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence, and instill CARE values in employees being supervised.
  • Oversee office financial assistance screening and eligibility, referrals, case management, case documentation, and case compliance.
  • Ensure case management availability to clients who are not eligible for financial assistance or not requesting financial assistance.
  • Develop and oversee all southeast Kansas poverty efforts to include financial capability, relationship education, and other strategies as funding allows.
  • Develop referral sources for southeast Kansas programming and to community resources.
  • Ensure accurate data collection and timely reporting for grant compliance and Agency reports.
  • Develop relationships and strong community support for Pittsburg office service area.
  • Attend community meetings representing Catholic Charities.
  • Ensure a collegial relationship with Pittsburg Housing Authority, SEK-CAP, CCMHC, local parishes and other critical partners.
  • Performs other related assigned duties.
