About The Position

This role oversees and works through the Physician Network Administrator to evaluate the effectiveness of the Physician Practice Division's staffing and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement in service, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This includes employee selection, orientation, training, and review. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining policies within the Physician Practice Division. It provides leadership to enhance the quality and scope of services at JMH and achieve organizational and strategic goals, collaborating with the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Team on strategic planning. The role also maintains financial operations to meet departmental and JMH budgets, including preparing operating and capital equipment budgets and monitoring financial performance. It assists in identifying and resolving issues related to market share, physician practice delivery/utilization, referral leakage/development, and data collection, recommending effective solutions. The position supports service line marketing, community relations, community health education, and performs rigorous analyses for inventory management and charges. It manages provider performance in Accountable Care Organization and Value-Based program participation. Furthermore, it creates and maintains positive relationships with healthcare providers, leads new provider recruitment and onboarding, and promotes JMH services to area providers. The role develops reports on referral building and provider relationship management and communicates appreciation for referrals. It coordinates and executes community events, managing all details from volunteer coordination to event setup and execution, acting as a goodwill ambassador for JMH. The position also maintains and participates in Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance activities, facilitates workflow and departmental process re-engineering, and serves as an administrative liaison for the physician leadership council and Credentials Committee. It ensures compliance with departmental and JMH policies, including safety policies and regulatory requirements from HFAP, ISDH, CMS, and other agencies. The role performs additional related duties as assigned and continuously supports the Mission and Values of JMH.

Requirements

  • Physician practice management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of business and analytic principles.
  • Computer skills.
  • Thorough understanding of medical office operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Experience coordinating on and off-site events including fairs, festivals, and educational seminars.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and collegial manner with internal stakeholders and external vendors and community organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or in a health sciences field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a related healthcare management position.
  • At least 2 years of specific experience with physician practice management.
  • Current unrestricted Indiana Driver’s License.
  • Reliable personal transportation and sufficient/appropriate personal automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain positive relationships with employed and non-employed healthcare providers.
  • Lead new provider recruitment and onboarding.
  • Work with JMH providers to articulate the wide variety of services offered by JMH and promote them to area providers.

  • Communicate appreciation to providers for patient referrals.
  • Coordinate and execute community events while cultivating new business.
  • Plan all details of events including volunteer coordination, communication with venues, event set-up, and execution.
  • Act as a goodwill ambassador for JMH at community events, chamber of commerce meetings, and other events.
  • Maintain and participate in Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance activities.
  • Facilitate analysis and re-engineering of workflow and key departmental processes.
  • Act as administrative liaison for the physician leadership council and for the Credentials Committee.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental and JMH policies, including safety policies.
  • Work to ensure compliance with HFAP, ISDH, CMS, and other appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
